Before you enroll

I need Urdu for my dissertation. How fast can I get there?

At A2 (roughly 4-5 months at 3-4 hours/week), you can read simple newspaper articles and conduct basic interviews. B1 gives you the ability to engage with literary texts and complex sources.

I already know Hindi. Do I need this?

Spoken Urdu and Hindi are largely mutually intelligible. But the scripts are completely different. If you can't read Nastaliq, you can't access Urdu texts.

My university offers Urdu courses. How is this different?

University courses are typically 2-3 years and scheduled around a semester. This course is self-paced, available immediately, and structured for practical reading and research skills.

Will this help me read historical Urdu texts?
